Today is the first day of summer vacation! Both thrilling and terrifying, since I no longer have daily morning chaos to get all of us out of the house, but what sort of other chaos will take its place with two boys home together for 2.5 months straight.
I have a few more things planned this summer than last to keep them busy and balance the insatiable desire to play video games with other forms of entertainment better suited to their ages.
One of the things was joining “Adventure to Fitness” which is an interactive way to get exercise and learn. Mikey did this in school and loved it, so we have plans to do it two or three times a week this summer. It’s truly an adventure that takes them through dinosaur times while making them run and jump over things for 30 minutes. The only bummer is that I had to order the DVD. I was really hoping it would be streamed, but all in due time. After finding out about our little delay this morning, I decided that the boys and I should get outside while the temps are still mild. To make it fun, I called it a nature scavenger hunt. The goal was to see how much wildlife we could spot on our walk down to the park on the lake.
